Personal Definition - A genre of computer role-playing game that originated in ancient times that generally has randomized elements and permanent character death. Graphics and sound capabilities can be primitive as the Ur-examples were designed on UNIX® mainframes or 8-bit personal computers but modern versions having these limitations should be considered a stylistic choice.
